We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Data Platform and Technology teams. The role will collaborate across teams and database environments, working to empower our business to make data driven decisions, optimise data usage and strategy at 3P. This is a great opportunity for a Data Engineer or Software Engineer seeking to expand their technical expertise in building scalable, performant data mesh and analytic platforms. You will be of a curious, proactive and solution focused mindset, prepared to bring strong technical skill and problem-solving ability to collaborate and innovate across complex database environments, to integrate and improve data capability at 3P.
How you will make a difference?
- Analyse user reporting requirements into core domain data concepts
- Build cloud infrastructures, pipelines, and fit-for-purpose data stores to enable free-flow of data
- Ingest data from both internal and external sources to create domain-specific and reusable data products
- Create and enable self-serve data capabilities across the business
- Explore, analyse, and transform data into business insight by use of analytic and reporting tools
- Business outcome focused, able to break down business problems into prioritised technical work
- Willing and able to take the initiative
- Possess a natural flair for problem solving and answering business questions with large amounts of data
- Comfortable working in an environment with competing priorities and ambiguous needs.
What experience and skill will you bring with you?
- RDBMS, automated migration tools such as Flyway
- AWS, Azure, terraform, buildkite, and Infrastructure as Code
- R, python, airflow, scala or other JVM languages, ruby, elixir, C#, shell script, and functional programming
- Test-Driven Development, Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architecture
- Salesforce and Netsuite data models and APIs
- BI and Data Visualisation tools (including, but not limited to Tableau, Zoho, Qlikview, and PowerBI)
- Experience collaborating and working across teams and functions including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Development and DevOps
