We are looking for a talented and motivated Front End Engineer to join our team in Canberra. This role will work closely with our current Front End Engineer to accelerate the development of Acorn UI - our internal component library that powers the platform’s front end experience. Initially, this role will focus on building reusable components to support our upcoming Capability product designs, helping uplift the experience across the platform while delivering critical value to the Capability product pod.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on scalable design systems and play a pivotal role in improving the speed and consistency of front end development platform-wide.

3. Responsive Design & Accessibility – Ensures user interfaces are accessible and provide an optimal experience across devices. Level: Developing - Implements accessible UI components following established accessibility standards.

4. Front-end Tooling & Automation – Leverages front-end tools and automation to streamline development workflows. Level: Developing - Configures build tools for common project requirements.

Code Quality & Best Practices:

  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA processes to ensure high standards.
  • Use WAI-ARIA best practices as part of the implementation process, and to uphold accessibility standards across front end systems

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver consistent, user-centric experiences.
  • Provide feedback and input into design system evolution and front end architecture decisions.

Required Skills & Experience
