Summary:

The Account Executive is responsible for leading full-cycle business development efforts across Sensiba’s Venture Capital, VC Fund, and Technology verticals. This role owns the entire sales process—from targeted prospecting and relationship building through solution scoping, proposal development, negotiation, and close.

The Account Executive will confidently articulate Sensiba’s audit, tax, advisory, and consulting services, address inquiries related to project scoping, timing, and pricing, and ensure an exceptional client experience. Success requires strong commercial instincts, the ability to convert both inbound and outbound opportunities, and the skill to build trust with founders, investors, executives, and internal service leaders.

Experience within the VC ecosystem, technology sector, or startup environment is highly valued. A background as a CPA or audit professional is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Sales Ownership

  • Build, manage, and grow a pipeline of VC, VC fund, and technology prospects using outbound prospecting, targeted outreach, cold outreach, and event networking.
  • Manage inbound leads through timely qualification, consultative discovery, scoping, and solution positioning.
  • Develop compelling, accurate proposals and Statements of Work that articulate Sensiba’s capabilities and value.
  • Lead pricing discussions, negotiations, and close high-quality engagements.
  • Proactively follow up on opportunities to ensure movement through the sales cycle and maintain CRM accuracy at all stages.
  • Conduct post-mortem discovery for closed-lost opportunities and nurture future pipeline.

Relationship Building, Channel Partnerships, Internal Collaboration, and Ecosystem Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    1. Venture Capital firms
    2. VC Funds and fund managers
    3. Corporate and tax law firms
    4. Startup ecosystem organizations, accelerators, and incubators
  • Execute a partner engagement strategy with regular check-ins, co-marketing, event participation, and targeted collaboration.
  • Represent the firm at Bay Area-based VC, startup, and tech conferences, events, and ecosystem gatherings.

Internal Collaboration

  • Develop strong internal relationships across audit, tax, advisory, and consulting teams.
  • Understand service lines, specialties, methodologies, and technical expertise to accurately position solutions.
  • Partner with internal leaders to scope work, develop proposals, and coordinate strategy for complex opportunities.
  • Ensure a smooth, complete handoff from sales to service delivery teams to support an exceptional client experience.

Market and Client Expertise

  • Understand the needs and growth cycles of VC-backed companies, founding teams, and high-growth technology clients.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across Sensiba’s audit, tax, advisory, and consulting services.
  • Stay informed on relevant industry trends, competitive dynamics, and shifts in the VC and technology landscape.

Brand Visibility and Thought Leadership

  • Support marketing in developing content, case studies, and thought leadership specific to the VC and technology ecosystem.
  • Participate in webinars, industry panel discussions, and community events on behalf of the firm.
  • Promote Sensiba’s brand by building presence within the VC/startup community.

Operational Excellence and Professional Growth

  • Ensure accuracy in proposals, pricing models, documentation, and CRM data.
  • Maintain awareness of financial, regulatory, and operational topics affecting clients and prospects.
  • Invest in ongoing sales training, professional development, and industry education to strengthen consultative capabilities.
  • Maintain professional certifications and CPE requirements as applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • CPA license, audit background, or financial statement familiarity is highly valued but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience in client-facing, revenue generating role.
  • Proven success managing the full sales cycle, with experience in both outbound and inbound motion.
  • Experience in one or more of the following (strongly preferred):
    • Venture Capital or VC Funds
    • Technology or high-growth startups
  • Experience building and managing relationships with founders, investors, executives, and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in consultative B2B or professional services sales is a plus.

Compensation:

This role offers a competitive base salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. The anticipated base salary ranges for this position are outlined below and are subject to change:

  • $100,000 - $120,000

This role is commission-eligible, with an anticipated OTE of $200,000 - $240,000.
