Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, vítejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work, we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

About the role

An Operations Business Partner at Canva works alongside the Leadership Operations (Chief of Staff), as well as the Group or Strategy Lead, and is responsible for improving how a group/program operates. The main goal is to ensure that the area is incredibly efficient and effective by setting processes and building out the operational foundations to support the strategic execution of the group’s company goals.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for running core operations for company goals that support Canva’s Teams & Enterprise product. You’ll own the strategy’s cadences, communications, ways of working, reporting, goal tracking and organise team events and celebrations. You’ll coordinate special projects and drive them to unilateral success by coordinating and communicating between key project owners. In short, you'll be the chief wrangler of anything operationally within the group that needs focus.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Defining and driving key cadences: You’ll establish and drive the rituals to keep the company goals on track, including defining the right audiences and rhythm.
  • Connecting the dots: Supporting Leads to ensure cross-collaboration and ways of working across Teams & Education Product, ensuring B2B needs are addressed, gaps are highlighted and resolved.
  • Communicating optimally to support teams: You’ll own all the comms, from kick off to end of delivery, including developing a clear overview document.
  • Facilitating strategic collaboration: You’ll proactively coordinate projects, ensuring teams and partners (such as Technical Program Managers) are aligned, informed, and working efficiently. You’ll drive best practices for communication, documentation, and context-sharing while anticipating and addressing concerns to maintain progress.
  • Proactively driving initiatives forward: You’ll keep programs on track by coordinating and tracking timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and statuses, calling out issues as needed. You’re able to work across big picture initiatives with the ability to break assignments down into manageable efforts and ensure they are able to be tracked and delivered.
  • Being the glue of the team: Coordinating events across the group, as well wrangling representatives and content from the group for company-wide events, coordinating and arranging celebrations & events for the team.
  • Forecasting and predicting emerging opportunities: In time, and working with the Group Leadership you will forecast and anticipate emerging opportunities across the Group, and preemptively work on solutions, constantly looking for areas to improve.

You're probably a match if

  • You have proven experience in a Program or Project Management role, or similar within the scale up tech environment.
  • You have previous experience in B2B SaaS, understanding the needs of Enterprise customers, and working with Sales, Product, Customer feedback and Marketing teams.
  • You have experience prioritising, managing and tracking multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • You’re truly self-motivated with a desire to constantly learn, develop and grow.
  • You are able to build relationships and rapport fast and constantly expand internal networks.
  • You have the ability to be comfortable operating in the grey. We don't often have all the information required and priorities can shift and change quickly, so a comfort with ambiguity and bringing clarity to these situations is a must.
