About the role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team in the role of Operations Engineer. If you have a passion for service management, improving operational efficiency, and delivering exceptional customer experiences, then this opportunity is for you.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following: service management and production operations, technical issue resolution, release management and deployments, incident and problem management, client change requests, automation tool deployment for machine learning models, routine tasks, and delivering customers the highest level of service within a defined SLA.

Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to coordinate and manage our monthly product offering across diverse teams, ensuring our customers receive the highest level of service.
  • Analytical and problem-solving prowess: You have a knack for identifying and resolving challenges. You enjoy analysing processes, techniques, and infrastructure, always striving to enhance our efficiency and effectiveness. You are not afraid to challenge the status quo and are driven to uplift our operations for the benefit of our customers.
  • Collaborative team player: You excel in a collaborative work environment and can seamlessly coordinate across teams (Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Data Science). Your ability to foster positive working relationships and facilitate effective communication ensures a cohesive approach to delivering outstanding results.
  • Strong technical knowledge: You possess a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, machine learning, and big data technologies. Your technical expertise enables you to contribute to the development and improvement of our cutting-edge platform.
  • IT service management experience: You have practical experience working with IT service management frameworks, allowing you to effectively handle technical support and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Exposure to risk and governance: You have been exposed to risk, service management, governance, audit, and assurance processes. Your familiarity with these areas ensures compliance and helps mitigate potential risks.
  • Desire for continual improvement: You have a strong desire to contribute to the ongoing improvement of our platform and processes. Your innovative mindset and commitment to excellence will drive positive change within our organization.

Knowledge

While the following knowledge is not required, they are highly valued:

  • Experience in financial services, specifically in technology and data domains.
  • Familiar with agile working practices, DevOps, and CI/CD principles.
  • Ability to take ownership from start-to-finish, working with limited supervision.
  • Aware of when to escalate and ask for help.
  • Collaborate effectively with a talented and diverse team.
  • Value learning new technologies and languages, with specific knowledge of Python and SQL being required.
  • University degree in computer science or similar.
  • Enjoy a start-up culture: team over individual, rapidly shifting priorities, flexibility surrounding assignments, and solving problems within, or outside of, formal duties.
