The Role

As an MLOps Engineer at Heidi, you'll be instrumental in scaling and securing our AI infrastructure, focusing on the deployment and operation of our machine learning systems in a highly regulated healthcare environment.

You'll work closely with our engineering team to build and maintain robust, compliant infrastructure for our AI-powered healthcare solutions.

What you’ll do:

  • Design and implement secure infrastructure for hosting LLM services and speech-to-text solutions across AWS and GCP environments

  • Lead the deployment and management of containerized ML services using Kubernetes (EKS/GKE)

  • Implement and maintain monitoring systems for ML model performance and ML infrastructure health

  • Establish and enforce security best practices and compliance requirements for healthcare AI systems

  • Collaborate with ML engineers to support deployment of ML models and services and optimise ML pipeline efficiency and reliability

  • Design and implement disaster recovery and high availability solutions for ML services

  • Manage infrastructure as code using Terraform and other modern DevOps tools

Key Requirements:

  • Strong experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS required, GCP beneficial)

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, preferably EKS or GKE

  • Understanding of ML/AI deployment challenges and solutions

  • Experience with implementing security controls and compliance requirements

  • Knowledge of monitoring and observability practices for ML systems

  • Strong networking and infrastructure security background

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with LLM deployments and optimisation

  • Healthcare industry experience

  • Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform)

  • Experience with speech-to-text services

  • Understanding of HIPAA or similar healthcare compliance frameworks

  • Experience with high-availability architectures
