Job Description
Step into a pivotal role as our Legal Counsel, where your valuable guidance will drive Lendi Group's success by supporting and empowering our dynamic team of business stakeholders.

What you will do:
- Guide and advice various business stakeholders on legal aspects of their defined areas, including providing support on new projects, incidents, business initiatives, acquisitions, regulatory change and improvements to systems and products.
- Use legal expertise to assist the General Counsel and business stakeholders to manage risk through provision of timely, accurate and practical legal advice.
- Assist in the review, draft and negotiating of contracts and commercial agreements.
- Provide independent legal advice on various matters, including advice on:
- National Consumer Credit Protection Act;
- Australian Competition and Consumer Act;
- General corporate law;
- Banking law;
- Franchising law and the Franchising Code of Conduct;
- Employment law; and
- Intellectual Property law.
- Contribute in strengthening relationships with key regulators, government agencies and industry bodies, for example ACCC, ASIC, AFCA and MFAA.
- Support in the development and improvement of the legal function and infrastructure to maximise efficiency and business support.
- Guide stakeholders on managing customer complaints effectively.
- Assist the Company Secretary with the compliance of the Lendi Group Companies with its statutory and regulatory obligations.
Qualifications
- Brings 3-6 years of post-qualification experience in corporate banking, structured finance, regulatory compliance, and advisory
- Degree in Law and eligible for a NSW Practicing Certificate, or holds current Practicing Certificate
- Proficient in Retail Banking Law and General Law and General Corporate Commercial Law
- A strong communicator, eager to influence and contribute to discussions across the business
- Strong skills in dispute resolution, mediation, and negotiation
- Curious personality, an innovative thinker adept at quickly grasping key business value drivers and risks
- A team player with a positive attitude, thriving in a fast-paced, technology-driven, growth-focused environment
