We are actively seeking a talented Staff Engineer to spearhead our dynamic mobile development team. In this pivotal role, you will shoulder substantial technical responsibilities, chart the course for Mobile at Mable, oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, and actively engage in collaborative discussions concerning design.
This role can be based from Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
Day to day will see you
- Developing software solutions for leverage across multiple teams
- Acquiring or building tools for use across the engineering organisation
- Documenting and demonstrating solutions by developing documentation, diagrams, and clear example code
- Assisting in incident management and fixes for Mable systems
- Improving operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in tooling or procedures
- Providing information by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service issues
- Coaching and mentoring other more junior engineers as well as conducting training for individuals and teams
- Performing system architecture analysis and design
- Identifiyng system-level improvements and deficiencies, and bring them to light
Skills knowledge and experience
- Previous team lead experience
- Familiarity with the testing pyramid
- Excellent communication skills and team-oriented mindset
- Good understanding of git, Gitflow, and GitHub Actions
- You are someone who will always leave the code you are working on a little bit better than you found it
- Experience in applying and implementing DevOps/CICD approach relevant for Mobile software delivery
- Hands-on technical experience on different mobile technologies such as Swift, Kotlin, React native and Ionic
- Experience with mobile application publication processes for both Apple AppStore and Google PlayStore
