An excellent opportunity for a strong Financial Accountant to join a telemedicine business with the office based in Sydney CBD. All consulting physicians are Fellows of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEMs). We are the largest private employer of FACEMs in Australia. We recently completed an acquisition of the GP2U and Psych2U business providing telehealth service by GPs, psychologist and psychiatrists.We work with Australian ambulance services, hospitals, Primary Health Networks, urgent care centres, and the general public to provide access to specialist medical advice via video or telephone consultation. Position SummaryWe are looking for a technically strong Financial Accountant to support the finance team and the operations of a telemedicine business that delivers care across hospitals, health services, aged care facilities and ambulance services across Australia.

Position PurposeReporting to the Financial Controller, the responsibilities of the Financial Accountant role will include:
  • Completion of bank reconciliations on a daily and weekly basis
  • Accounts payable functions including supplier setup, checking and processing bills, following up for approval and payments
  • Accounts receivable functions including customer setup, raising invoices and attending to outstanding invoices
  • Processing of payroll for employees and contractors
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly BAS / IAS returns
  • Preparation and lodgement of payroll tax where required
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers including calculation and posting of depreciation and processing new asset additions and disposals
  • Processing general ledger journals to maintain accuracy of financial reports
  • Preparation of reconciliations to ensure the integrity of balance sheet accounts
  • Analysis of transactions posted to the general ledger to ensure compliance with Group Accounting Policies
  • Assisting the Financial Controller with audit queries to ensure clear audit results
  • Month-end close process and reporting including variance analysis, P&L commentary
  • Preparation of monthly reports and ad-hoc analysis required to support other departments in the business
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasts required
  • Assist with cash flow reporting and projections
  • Perform other duties as required to assist the Financial Controller with meeting Board and Statutory reporting requirements.
Essential Skills, Qualifications And Experience
  • Qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting
  • Problem solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with a can-do attitude
  • Strong Excel skills with analytical mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
