Head of Product (AUS)

Osara Health (previously CancerAid) is an Australian digital health company that empowers people and organisations affected by cancer to thrive.

We build digital engagement platforms and health coaching programs designed to support those who may be living with cancer or caring for someone with cancer.

We are hiring a Head of Product to lead our team. The role is a full-time and remote position (Australia East-Coast time zone), although you must be based in Australia.

The role is a leadership role, working closely with the Head of Engineering, clinical team and members of the executive team to deliver our product vision.

Role overview

  • Shape and drive the strategic product vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs.
  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, while collaborating closely with the Head of Clinical Product, Head of Engineering and the executive team.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand market trends, customer feedback, and business needs.
  • Our Product team is small – you must be comfortable getting in the weeds, performing the role of a hands-on Product Manager for the foreseeable future.
  • Market research and competitor analysis
  • Understand and maintain our product margins
  • Manage our Product Designer, and have overall responsibility for the Clinical Product team (i.e. our health coaches).
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the development and success of our products across the U.S., Australia and New Zealand.
  • Hire, train, and support team members, ensuring that they have the skills and resources required to deliver their work.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Head of Product or similar role, at a digital health or tech company
  • Experience working across mobile and web
  • 5+ years of experience in product roles (i.e. as a product manager)
  • Clear understanding of user experience, design thinking, and product management methodologies
  • Strategic mindset with the capability to align product initiatives with overall business goals
  • Commercial experience i.e. understand economic drivers, ROI
  • Proficient with excel i.e. able to model COGS / the impact of features on different metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage teams
  • Startup experience and a track record of successfully scaling products
