As one of our Chemical Technicians, you will be responsible for operating lab scale and pilot scale reactors, preparing samples for HPLC analysis, conducting routine laboratory tasks, and ensuring accurate and timely testing procedures. This role requires a degree or higher qualification in biochemistry, chemistry, or chemical engineering, along with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Operating lab scale and pilot scale reactors:

  • Prepare reaction mixtures and set-ups.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of the reactors.
  • Monitor reactions and adjust parameters as needed to optimize results.

Sample Preparation

  • Prepare samples for analysis using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
  • Sample preparation and submission for Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-OES)
  • Follow established protocols to ensure accurate and reproducible sample preparation.
  • Maintain detailed records of sample preparation and analysis procedures.
  • Ensure samples are prepared and tested within holding time to maintain sample integrity.

Routine Operation Of Analytic Instruments

  • Perform routine operation, calibration, and maintenance of analytic instruments including HPLC and UV-Vis spectrophotometer.
  • Troubleshoot instrument issues and perform minor repairs as needed.
  • Collect and analyse data generated from instrument runs.

Data Management And Reporting

  • Utilise MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to organize and manage data.
  • Prepare reports summarizing experimental results and findings.
  • Communicate results to team members and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in biochemistry or chemistry or relevant qualification.
  • Experience operating laboratory equipment and conducting sample preparation for HPLC analysis.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
