THE ROLE...
These roles will lead capital projects focused on scaling up and transferring our PET and Nylon processes to full-scale commercial facilities. You will leverage your extensive experience in project and engineering management to work with selected EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners responsible for building the necessary infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will guide a cross-functional team of engineers and collaborate closely with operations, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from design through commissioning.
This position will require travel to Canberra and to a nominated site internationally.

Key Responsibilities...
- Project Strategy and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for scaling up ether PET or Nylon processes, managing all phases from Front-End Loading (FEL) through to commissioning and start-up, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external teams, including commercial, engineering, and technical stakeholders, to ensure alignment on project requirements, technical challenges, and production goals.
- Engineering Expertise: Provide technical oversight and support to EPC partners by developing detailed scope and interface management plans. Your broad knowledge across process, mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as operational and quality requirements, will ensure effective execution.
- Cost Estimation and Resource Management: Utilise your expertise in cost estimating, ideally CPEng, CQS/MAIQS certified or equivalent, to manage project budgets, track cash flow, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Project Management: Apply project management principles (e.g., PMBOK) to oversee project schedules, resource constraints, and milestones. Use project management software to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely project delivery within budget.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and regulatory risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing proactive risk management strategies to achieve successful outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and performance of capital project processes, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices for ongoing optimisation.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular project updates, communicate milestones, and share technical insights with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners to ensure alignment, transparency, and collaboration across all parties.
- Bachelor or higher degree in a relevant engineering field.
- Extensive experience in international process transfer and scale-up
- Proven track record of success in managing complex engineering projects, preferably in a manufacturing or process development environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in evaluating and optimizing equipment and processes for scale-up, with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and safety.
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and related operational requirements
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, set clear objectives, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and address technical challenges and opportunities throughout the technology transfer process.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Passion for innovation, technology commercialisation, and driving positive impact through engineering excellence.
