THE ROLE...

This role will lead capital projects focused on scaling up and transferring either our PET or Nylon processes to full-scale commercial facilities. You will leverage your extensive experience in project and engineering management to work with selected EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) partners responsible for building the necessary infrastructure. Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, you will guide a cross-functional team of engineers and collaborate closely with operations, commercial teams, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from design through commissioning.

This position will require travel to Canberra and to a nominated site internationally.

Key Responsibilities...

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal and external teams, including commercial, engineering, and technical stakeholders, to ensure alignment on project requirements, technical challenges, and production goals.
  • Engineering Expertise: Provide technical oversight and support to EPC partners by developing detailed scope and interface management plans. Your broad knowledge across process, mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as operational and quality requirements, will ensure effective execution.
  • Cost Estimation and Resource Management: Utilise your expertise in cost estimating, ideally CPEng, CQS/MAIQS certified or equivalent, to manage project budgets, track cash flow, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
  • Project Management: Apply project management principles (e.g., PMBOK) to oversee project schedules, resource constraints, and milestones. Use project management software to ensure transparency, accountability, and timely project delivery within budget.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical, operational, and regulatory risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing proactive risk management strategies to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and performance of capital project processes, leveraging data-driven insights and best practices for ongoing optimisation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular project updates, communicate milestones, and share technical insights with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external partners to ensure alignment, transparency, and collaboration across all parties.
