Job Description

Are you an innovative product manager with a passion for incubating new ideas and driving them to market? Shift is looking for a Product Manager to spearhead the launch of new products and manage their growth until they reach scale. As part of our dynamic team, you'll have the opportunity to bring fresh products to life, test market hypotheses, and help shape the future of our product offerings.

What you'll do:

  • Manage 2-3 new products simultaneously, overseeing all stages of the product lifecycle from market research to scaling.
  • Identify and define new target markets and serviceable segments for product opportunities.
  • Develop a strong market thesis, clearly articulating what Shift can offer SMEs that current solutions don’t.
  • Design initial product concepts and organisational structures to maximize the chances of success while managing acceptable levels of risk.
  • Translate product ideas into detailed, actionable requirements, ensuring smooth execution from concept to market launch.
  • Coordinate necessary organisational changes (e.g., hiring, team expansion, systems updates) to support product launches and ensure the right resources are in place.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to execute on the product vision, driving alignment between product, design, development, and operations.
  • Iterate quickly on product features and design to achieve Product-Market Fit, testing and refining the product based on customer feedback.
  • Continuously improve the product, incorporating insights from customer usage, market trends, and competitor analysis to optimize the market fit.
  • Make data-driven decisions on whether to scale the product as a core offering or exit the market if the product fails to gain traction.
  • Ensure regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on progress, iterations, and strategic decisions.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in commercial or B2B markets, with an understanding of the varying needs of businesses at different scales.
  • Exposure to new product development, particularly in a 0-1 product environment.
  • A strong background in banking products and a solid understanding of different credit policy environments.
  • Proven track record of solving problems in ways that add value.
  • Comfort navigating uncertainty and tackling ambiguous situations with confidence.
  • Highly internally driven, with the resolve to bring new ideas to life, even in the face of skepticism.
  • Ability to sell the vision of a new product or idea to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced environments.
