The Role

We’re looking for a full-time Business Development Manager, based in Brisbane, to join our team at Snap Send Solve. This newly created role will be integral to our growth efforts and plans to increase usage of our platform. This position is open to any self-starter with the hunger to learn and the grit to succeed in a start-up environment. In particular, you’ll be organised and focused on relationship-building with a strong ability to manage and close software sales.

An important part of the role will be working with potential customers on adopting Snap Send Solve which means meeting new people and working with organisations to see Snap Send Solve as a critical part of their customer service function. You must be able to think strategically to identify opportunities and be proactive in closing out sales processes.

Why we’re here

We’re a platform that allows anyone to report community issues to local councils, utilities and companies like Telstra, NBN and Australia Post. We exist to empower every person to improve shared spaces around them.

Our community of 500,000+ Snappers sends reports about anything from fallen trees or damaged playground equipment to accessibility issues anywhere in Australia and New Zealand. Snappers have sent almost 3 million reports and counting.

We provide organisations — whom we call Solvers — a cloud-based SaaS platform enabling easy and reliable communication with their residents and customers. Councils can more efficiently resolve community issues, the University of Melbourne uses Snap Send Solve as a way to engage with students, staff and visitors and we help organisations like the SES monitor flood levels.

We’re a tech company pursuing real impact in hundreds of communities every day. Our vision is to be the go-to platform for communities to improve shared spaces — everywhere. And if you think that sounds like something worth working on, we’d love you to join us.

As a BDM, you’ll be:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the purpose of your role is to help local councils and utilities engage with their communities. You’ll partner with the team to activate prospects in Queensland and identify new customer opportunities.

The role is remote from Snap Send Solve’s Melbourne office but you will work closely with our Commercial and Sales teams and meet in-person monthly.

In particular, you’ll:

  • Formulate and drive sales strategies to generate leads and acquire new customers in your territory
  • Proactively build and maintain a sales pipeline of prospects and active opportunities while also leveraging pre-existing relationships we have built
  • Maintain a strong focus on business development activities such as relationship building, forecasting and CRM management
  • Provide accurate forecasts and reporting to the CEO in relation to monthly and quarterly targets
  • Work with the Customer Success Manager to ensure new customers are set up for success when handing over new accounts
  • Create a network of informal contacts to expand the customer base
  • Comfortably engage with key influencers and decision makers at all levels of seniority and engage with them at relevant level
  • Identify potential markets for Snap Send Solve solutions in adjacent verticals and position our offering
  • Maximise opportunities by researching industry, publications and related events and apply this knowledge to the value we can bring to clients
