The Category Buying team work together with the Planning team to drive sales, maximise profit, manage intake and ensure that of the moment and forward-thinking ranges engage THE ICONIC customer.

As the Head of Trade Marketing, you will lead the trade marketing function, playing a pivotal role in shaping our brand's market presence. This senior role requires extensive experience in both trade marketing and sales. You will define and execute trade marketing strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and market share growth, leveraging insights and data-driven analyses to drive sustainable and profitable growth for the business.

The role has two direct reports and works directly with the Planning Director, Planning Managers, Category Management, Marketing, Product and Tech teams on a daily basis.

We are looking for a Head of Trade Marketing to join our team on a 12 month Max Term Contract.

What’s involved…

  • Develop and execute trade marketing strategies and plans to achieve sales and profit targets and market share growth.
  • Excellent understanding of financial analyses and is proficient in building them
  • Lead and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including commercial, marketing, product and tech teams, to ensure alignment and effective execution of trade marketing initiatives.
  • Analyse trade marketing performance metrics, using data-driven insights to recommend improvements, inclusive of market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Manage and execute promotional and full price trade strategies
  • Review and react to daily/weekly business performance based on demand, sales, margin & digital metrics for THE ICONIC at group, brand and category level and make action recommendations to the Executive team.
  • Lead the cross functional trade task force team to that build and execute trade strategies for all international, in market, owned and reactive promotional events.
  • Highly analytical and runs regular promotional effectiveness and competitor analysis.
  • Deep understanding of company financials, the levers that drive them and when and where to implement them.
  • Excellent understanding of financial analyses and proficient in building them.
  • Ability to take complex trade topics and translating them for audiences to easily digest is part of your day to day.

About you…

  • You are highly organised and efficient at managing and prioritising multiple tasks
  • You have great “people skills” and are comfortable working with a wide-range of people across the organisation
  • Decisive and confident in making decisions, ensuring timely and effective outcomes even in challenging situations
  • Degree or MBA qualifications in relevant tertiary discipline
  • Experience in building commercial strategies and plans
  • Strong retail, commercial or e-commerce experience, ideally having worked closely with major fashion retailers in Australia and/or abroad in the last 5-10 years.
  • Advanced financial and analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, support and coach high-performing cross functional teams
