We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fulfilment & Planning to lead our fulfillment operations, including inbound/outbound logistics, inventory, and workforce planning. In this role, you will manage a partially automated fulfillment center equipped with cutting-edge AMR and ASRS technology, reporting to the Director of Fulfillment and Logistics. You will be responsible for setting and monitoring KPIs and SLAs to enhance customer experience and operational performance, developing forward-looking strategies for short, medium, and long-term fulfillment plans. As a leader, you will drive workforce planning, cultivate a high-performing team, and spearhead sustainability initiatives, while also building strategic partnerships and representing Operations at key industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full end to end ownership and functional responsibility for fulfilment operations (Inbound/Outbound/Inventory and Workforce Planning), managing a partially automated fulfilment centre with AMR and ASRS technology, manual picktowers, together with the Director, Fulfilment and logistics.
  • Set and monitor KPIs and SLAs to improve the customer experience and fulfilment centre performance, providing best in class services to our customers.
  • Work with the Director, Fulfilment and Logistics and COO to develop the strategy for operations & fulfilment, inclusive of forward looking FC and automation plans for the Short (3-month), Medium (12-18 month), and Long term (36-60 month).
  • Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for operations workforce planning ensuring robust planning and forecasting to fit with changing business needs, superior internal and external stakeholder management and anticipation of workforce trends.
  • Lead and cultivate a high performing, professional and accountable Fulfilment Centre, working with your leadership team to benchmark performance and behaviours, create efficiencies and share best practice, while ensuring synergies and consistency of leadership across Inbound, outbound and Inventory.
  • Lead and support FC sustainability initiatives including packaging, waste management, energy efficiency and circular recycle projects.
  • Analyse information and data to identify risks and opportunities to current and future strategy.
  • Build strategic partnerships and relationships cross functionally and with clients, vendors, and all other professional business relationships as required.
  • Play a key role in supporting Operations projects and initiatives.
  • Represent Operations at industry events, Town Halls and Executive board meetings as required.

What success looks like

  • Minimum 8 years senior manager level experience leading fulfilment/distribution centre operations, preferably in the retail/e-commerce sector.
  • Superior communication skills with the ability and adaptability to tailor to suit audience needs and get the best outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills at all levels to successfully raise the bar.
  • Successfully lead large scale projects from end to end, on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building functionally and cross functionally excelling at networking and stakeholder management to foster mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Experience in working with S&OP processes enterprise wide and engaging in commercial stakeholder planning processes.
  • Proven ability to drive measurable customer and business outcomes.
  • Expertise in warehouse management systems & automation.
  • High level, proven financial and business acumen.
