About the role
As part of the finance team you will play an integral role in actively supporting the business in managing their vendor accounts. As a growing company, this is a great opportunity to develop your career in Accounting.

What you'll do

  • Manages vendor accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centres by analysing invoice/expense reports
  • Pays vendors by monitoring and verifying invoices; scheduling and preparing checks
  • Prepares purchase order and invoice; verifying payment discrepancies and documentation insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments
  • Tracks payment history and any outstanding payments
  • Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports
  • Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Prepares analysis when required
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements and related transactions
  • Maintains historical records by filing documents
  • Disburses petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation
  • Records taxes/GST by calculating and verifying invoices
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Manual processing of customer requests
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Uphold and contribute to Tyro’s strong risk culture by complying with our policies, completing mandatory training and identifying and managing risks within your day-to-day work

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance of Business
  • Experience with excel and proprietary software
  • Experience and proven ability to manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Proven working experience as an accounts payable officer/clerk
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Motivated individual
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with department heads, vendors and employees in a friendly, professional and prompt manner
